NOTIFICATION OF FOOD SUPPLEMENTS
We advise, adjust and prepare labelling information for food supplements in accordance with the requirements of the legislation, as well as prepare documents for their notification to SFVS.
- All food supplements sold must be notified by the SFVS.
- Food business operators must notify and notify the competent authority – the SFVS – of food supplements produced in Lithuania, as well as food supplements imported for the first time into our country from the European Union Member States, the Republic of Iceland, the Principality of Liechtenstein, the Kingdom of Norway, and the Swiss Confederation, and food supplements imported for the first time from a third country other than Iceland, the Principality of Liechtenstein, the Kingdom of Norway, and the Swiss Confederation.
- Lithuanian and EU legislation prohibits claims of therapeutic and preventive properties of food supplements (or of the ingredients they contain) in advertising, except where such claims are approved by the European Commission.
